At the midnight of September 24 1990, it was silent and dark. You can only see one lamp on a table which serves as a dim light. All people were sleeping that night when a mother seems to give birth. Some neighbors came out their house to help the mother on her labor. After some time, a healthy and cute baby girl was born and of course, both the mother and the father felt happy for having a baby girl.
My name is Rechelle Ann Caslangan, I live in Capintalan Carranglan Nueva Ecija and I grew up in Imugan Sta.Fe Nueva Vizcaya. When I’m at home, I always watch TV and eat whatever food I see in the refrigerator. I’m interested in playing volleyball, badminton, Frisbees, and many more and I always want to play with my friends in Imugan.
My parents are Mr.& Mrs. Quitos Caslangan and their occupation is both farmers. Farming is the only source of income of my parents, they could not find job because they did not finished their education, they stopped in High school, and their parents cannot send them to school.
I have two younger sisters & two brothers. Richard is our eldest brother; he finished his high school level, our parents give their best in sending him to college but he disappointed them because he did not pass all his grades. Now he is applying as a security guard in Marikina. I’m the next to him; I’m the eldest sister of my youngest brothers and sisters. Regielyn is the third; she’s a third year high school studying in Kalahan Academy and she is supported by our uncle on her study. We are same in height and sometimes, people mistake us as twins. Rhea is the fourth and Harold is our last. Both of them live with my parents in Capintalan, my parents send them to school.
My parents can’t send us to school that’s why my grandma decided to get me and live with her in Imugan, my grandma sent me to school since I was in kindergarten.
I was 5 years of age when I started going to school and I was just a kinder in Imugan. Our school was small; it’s just like a small room where dwarf chairs and tables fit in there. Before I go to school, my grandma used to give me 2 pesos and a snack because I cannot go to school without it. If there’s time she don’t have money on her pocket, she won’t give money and I always cry until she beat me.
When I was in grade 1 in the year 1997, my auntie Conie was so strict with me, she wants to see me reading my notes always, answering my home work, and she usually beat my hand with a ruler. She gives me about 5 to 3 minutes to play with my friends outside while watching me playing then call me to continue studying. She doesn’t even let me watch TV even its weekends. If I come home from school, I walked slowly to put my bag inside so that she won’t let me study.
